here’s a cool little trinket. it’s called the playbutton, and simply put it’s a wearable button/music player. un-simply put, it could just be the device to revive physical music purchases, (at least temporarily…) unlike every other mp3 player, the playbutton is designed to play a single album as-is, meaning: “The content is pre-recorded and cannot be changed or downloaded, and like an album, the sequence of the music can not be altered”. so it’s basically a self-playing cd of sorts, and because it’s also a button, you can add whatever album art you wish, (keeping artists employed (yea!)). the small size is also nice, (4.5cm badge), allowing you to keep an entire library of music on your backpack, jacket, or even in a shoe box if need be. of course it has play/pause, skip and volume functions built-in, and runs on a re-chargeable lithium battery for convenient use. i really like the idea behind this crazy button, and i think it would be a great format for any band to experiment with as an alternative to the compact disc or downloadable digital file. now to wait and see just how much they’ll co$t…
